WORKING TITLE FOR YOUR PROJECT (ONE SENTENCE).

Being a designer

DESCRIBE YOUR PROJECT IN MORE DETAIL (1-2 PARAGRAPHS).

This project is trying to establish the connection between individual designers and the

different pathways of design to show a common passion and connection. I am trying to communicate this common feeling through a script of questions that will allow designers to personally express who they are. I want my audience to see my video and somehow see themselves within these designers and connect to the same mutual feeling all the designers in us share.

Video:

I will use the footage from my interviews conducted with designers to craft a short video of the designers explaining who they are, what they do, what they think with a script of questions. I will not be interviewing in the video footage so I will need to make sure the interviewee can clearly state the question at the start of each question. I am aiming for this video to be around 5-10 minutes with different uses of film techniques which I will be experimenting with in the next few weeks before the interviews. 

Publication:

I am also going to create a publication which will present some of my research, data, and results. This publication will also include imagery taken at the interviews including the designer. 

EXPLAIN WHY YOU THINK THIS PROJECT IS RELEVANT.

Why do we care about the research problem/topic and the results?

As designers, we are constantly trying to communicate who we are and understand what we do and why we do it. The research I plan to conduct will not answer a question but attempt to from a connection and a common feeling between designers. My project doesn’t necessarily address a problem but I think within the interviews there may be questions asked and answers that might address some problems and questions within the industry and how us designers go about these problems. The results I am planning to achieve in my research and final outcomes include; gaining the attention of designers who see my work and understand themselves and other designers and how we all fit into the world.

You can describe why you are inspired by or other important aspect(s) of this project that interests you.

The reason I wanted to complete this project was to challenge myself to get out of my confort zone but within a topic I am passionate it about. Hoping my passion will help to make it easier to go deeper into the topic. Interviewing for video is something I have never done but I think it will be the most impactful way to get my topic across.

I wanted to complete this project to answer some questions young designers like me may have and not know they have these questions.
